Ugh. Television
I have problems with the season finale of Bones.

The tone of the episode was way way too mixed, and Zack as Gormagon's apprentice was not at all believable. Cam is the only regular cast member that would be remotely realistic when it comes to a team member being EVIL.

Also, the fake funeral for Booth was LAME, in execution, if not in concept. And who else can drive a truck through the idea of booth, after being shot badly enough to be considered DEAD is back to normal as soon as his funeral? (Which would be a week or so?). UM. YEAH.

Consider also that Bones would've ridden in the ambulance with him, and would've seen if he was near death or not.

If I was in charge of things, I would've solved the problems like so:

Booth is in critical condition at the hospital.
The Team is called back to the lab due to the arrival of something from Gormagon.
Some lab work to realize that someone in the building is involved.
Start narrowing it down to a handful of people.
More investigation, some scene over critical Booth at the hospital.
Zack goes missing while everyone else is burning the midnight oil. (kidnapped)
Sweets and Hodgins work up psych and locational profiles, they figure out who it is.
FBI shows up and catches Gormagon and apprentice, just in time to keep them from desecrating Zack's body.
While at the scene, Bones is informed of Booth having some kind of crisis at the hospital, being rushed into surgery.

END OF SEASON.

Now the beginning of season 4 can start with the fake funeral, giving some flux time to explain why Booth, recently mortally wounded, is up and about. Then intersperse the cute stuff (Bones's repressed feelings for Booth, and Sweets's interference, pie, etc) with a tense, well written mystery, and fill the gaps with people missing Zack.

Honestly? This is a show about smart people. It's MUCH more likely that Gormagon would want to gnaw Zack's cranium than he would be able to get in there and dominate Z.

Tarnish that cute man's fictional reputation? I'd rather see him dead! :P And I think this version will be my own personal canon.

I also find this amusing so soon after I see the L&O:CI episode (from season 1) that Eric Millegan had a small role in. (And, yes, I referred to him as Zack in my head while watching it.)

Doing a news search for Eric Millegan, I come across the news that he's gay (I'm surprised, but not shocked), and this quite interesting (to the fan in me) article at Entertainment Weekly.

Well, that's over (for now).

Dancing With The Stars is over, Bones is over, House is over, CSI is over, Scrubs is over... as far as network TV goes, all I have left is one more of Ugly Betty, then a long slow wait for August. (Well, I'm not caught up with Heroes or Lost, but that's stuff I save for nights with Reagan. :) (and we're still a little behind on BSG, too))

Maybe the summer hiatus will give me the impetus to knock down that backlog of podcasts I keep meaning to get to... ;D
